Are candle jars recyclable?
Our candle jars are made of glass with a plastic lid and are fully recyclable. All the wax needs to be removed from the jar before recycling. We recommend scraping out most of the wax and any remnants can be removed by pouring boiling water onto the wax.
What candle wax is best?
At Epsilon, we only use Rapeseed Oil and Coconut wax in all our wax-based products. We have chosen this wax due to its low environmental footprint, superior scent holding properties and its lack of soot. This wax burns much cleaner than other alternatives such as soy and paraffin wax.
Why do candle flames flicker?
Candle flames usually flicker due to drafting within the room. Only a small amount of moving air will disrupt the flame and cause it to flicker. Sometimes it can also occur due to the flame being too large. This can happen when the wick isn’t trimmed before lighting. It is recommended to always trim the wick to 5mm before lighting.
Are scented candles bad for you?
Scented candles are generally not bad for you if they’re used correctly. Our candles produce very little to no soot meaning there is no hydrocarbons in your home. Our fragrances are high quality and free from CMR, Phthalates, Parabens, Silicon and PEG’s. A scented candle should never be left unattended and lit. Always extinguish when leaving the room. A candle should never be burnt for more than 3 hours at a time.
